Today, I want to dive into something that I think will make your soulful intuition tingle—your confidence! Oh yes, it’s time to tap into the magic that lies in regulating your nervous system and nurturing your emotions without resistance.
Your confidence has a DIRECT CORRELATION to your skills in regulating your nervous system.
Here’s the thing—mindset and thought work are great tools, and absolutely necessary to help you get where you want to go. But they’re not the complete package. They’re part of phase two of the HSP’s journey to thriving in an unsensitive world.
To truly soar to new heights, you must first learn to regulate your nervous system and nurture your emotions. That’s where the real magic happens!
Picture this: Your confidence is like a well-tuned instrument, and your nervous system is the conductor of the symphony of emotions within you. When the conductor is skilled, the music flows harmoniously. But when it’s off-key, the melody falls flat and it sounds like noise. THIS IS WHY YOU ARE OVERWHELMED SO OFTEN–NOISE!
An unregulated and unnurtured nervous system keep you in survival mode which means you can’t access the part of your brain that can make the choices you want to make–creating healthy habits, finding your tribe, getting out of a job that sucks your soul and finding something more aligned with who you are and what you want, etc.
Instead of pushing emotions away or locking them in compartments, let’s embrace them knowing the wisdom they hold–even if we don’t like them! Even the icky feelings we felt when watching Regina George in Mean Girls, taught us valuable lessons about how we don’t want to show up (or maybe we do sometimes?)!

Every feeling has a purpose, a message for you to decipher. And when you learn how to listen and learn rather than emote or crumble, oh, how your confidence soars!
The problem is, most people (maybe you too?) are overwhelmed by your negative emotions and feel trapped because you’re pushing them away because they’re scary, unpleasant, and most definitely uncomfortable!
My clients often misconstrue what confidence really is. You see, confidence isn’t about being fearless; it’s about knowing you can handle whatever life throws your way. It’s about
- ⛰️ Grounding in your inner strength
- 🌬️Gracefully flowing with authenticity and vulnerability (one of your natural HSP superpowers!)
- 🌊 Embracing and playing through tides of change
- ❤️🔥Igniting your passions and using them as fuel and
- ✨Glowing with spirit as you walk through the storms
This is why learning how to work with your nervous system is so essential.
Here are some elemental & soul fulfilling steps to nurture your nervous system and ignite your confidence:
🧘♀️ Embrace Mindfulness: Find moments to breathe, ground yourself, and be present with your emotions. The more you embrace them, the less they’ll feel overwhelming.
🌿 Self-Compassion: Be gentle with yourself, my dear. You’re doing the best you can, and that’s truly remarkable. Don’t let self-criticism dim your sparkle.
🎭 Embrace Emotion: Don’t suppress your feelings; give them the space they deserve. Cry, laugh, dance—let it out, and watch your confidence soar as you feel truly alive.
💖 Seek Support: Surround yourself with a tribe that understands and supports you–friends, therapists, coaches, family, etc.. Let’s face it; we all need a little boost from our support team. And don’t be afraid to ask for it when you need it!
🌈 Embrace Your Sensitivity: Being an HSP is a gift, not a curse. Embrace your sensitivity, for it brings depth and richness to your experiences.
This journey out of overwhelm and desperation into fulfillment and empowerment is one of self-discovery and compassion. Remember, your sensitivity is your strength, and your ability to navigate the depths of emotions is a gift to cherish–it’s what makes life RICH!
